Our Story
Where It Started
Our son is autistic and nonspeaking — but that never meant he didn’t have something to say. Like many families, we spent years navigating systems that overlooked his capabilities and underestimated his potential.
Everything changed when we discovered letterboard-based spelling and the communication methods that opened a new channel for him to express himself. For the first time, we saw who he truly is: intelligent, thoughtful, and deeply aware.

Why We Built This Movement
We quickly realized that countless families are experiencing the same challenges — searching for resources, navigating limited access, and trying to find people trained to support this form of communication. There are not enough spelling coaches, not enough visibility, and not enough support for those who need it most.
A Walker Movement was created to help close that gap. By raising awareness, directing families to reputable resources, and generating funds to support training for individuals and coaches, we’re working to accelerate progress at scale.
